Just checked my battery and it was charging at 14.6 volts on tick over is this too high ?

No, and that is a good voltage to have for both lead acid and LiFePO4.
Is that with a stock RR?

agreed, thats fine, although on the high end of normal for a lead acid battery.
just be sure the volts don't climb any more as the revs increase but you should be fine..

Volts don't increase with revs they decrease, 13.8 with lights on so hopefully OK
