FireStorm 2 progress update

Post by cheekykev »

Been busy over the last few weeks, took 2 full days just to clean all the impregnated crap of everything. Upgraded and serviced the Forks roger style, upgraded the front brakes, cool and comfy top yoke, ultra low Renthal bars, new HEL extended lines, new double bubble screen.
Modified the original exhaust, took all the back end out to service swinging arm, linkages etc, new OEM Nissin brake pads all round, changed all fluids, oil filter, air filters, new chain & sprockets, new cush drives, new Metzeler tyres, Marawaki style bellypan and headlight cover in for colour coding.
Jobs still to do are, clean and balance carbs, change reg rec, new battery, change indicators to Aprilia type, get sub frame powder coated, valve clearance checks, cct stopper mod, will get a new Nitron shock when they come back on offer. that should everything good for a while.

Looking lovely Kev.
You'll have to get out now and let us know your opinion on the flat bars.
Liking the set of gallows you've made up, do you have the sizes you used ?
Don't hassle me
I'll get there at some time

No i wont be adding any anodised red bits, I'm not into bling, sometimes less is more.
To get the crap off I use Jizer a tooth brush, fine scotch bright soaked in GT85.
For polishing I use wadpol (a bit like duraglit as you might know it) and about a week of hard work and sore fingers

No I didn't think you would be adding any anodised tat. I was only joking. That wadpol looks like bloody good gear. When I was younger and in the cadets I used to spend hours with a tin of brasso and duraglit polishing the ships binnacle when on quarter masters duty. It's very satisfying watching the wadding turn black.
