Mori velocity stacks question

Post by freeridenick »

Having been looking at the images in the Mori VTR article again I noticed that the intakes cover, or appear to cover, the three or four brass ducts on the top of the carbs. The std airbox has a cut out for these and the std intakes don't cover them up. At least I don't remember them doing.

So the questions are:
1) What are these ducts? Air jets?
2) Why do the Mori stacks cover them over? Is it because they are meant to be used in a pressurised airbox or because there are other mods needed to run these?

The mori don't cover them .
The base plates are shaped around them and the stacks screw into the base plate .

You could always have a go at making some  These are DR Honda / HPower copies but the mounting is very similar to the Mori's so should give you a good idea. The biggest difference is that these are equal height whereas Moris are one one short, one long like standard stacks but more extreme and then obviously the curved top.
