Clutch Slave rod
Re: Clutch Slave rod
But what is the cause of such a bent rod. That must have been forced against a clutch basket that did not move freely.

Re: Clutch Slave rod
Or bent while off the bike by the po while off the bike and stuck in anyway.
We'll probably never know.

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
Re: Clutch Slave rod
Replacement rod arrived yesterday from eBay (only ordered Saturday), that's good service - Thanks again for link Wicky!

New oil & filter, new (to me) clutch rod fitted..... clutch feels decidedly lighter and smoother! I will find out at Snetterton on wed if it's cured it
Re: Clutch Slave rod
No clutch probs at all over the 2 days.......
I do now seem to have a fuelling issue, bike really really surges like I am snapping the throttle open-closed-open really really quickly! Happened after coming out a bend after a high rpm straight, short shifting and WOT seemed to clear it!
Run out of preload adjustment and still bottoming out on very heavy braking, what do you guys suggest - currently can't afford to swap out whole front end without a lottery win
Advice appreciated

Re: Clutch Slave rod
front end needs stiffer springs (approx. £100) and then add 7.5wt oil up to 140mm from the top [no spring and tube fully compressed]
that will make a good difference

Re: Clutch Slave rod
Check for a hose that runs through the carbs that needs rerouting to prevent vapour lock under heavy braking. There was a factory notification of it being an issue.
Plus check condition of fuel tap diaphram.
Also check all other hoses esp vacuum hoses are in tip-top condition, secure and not torn or leaking.

Re: Clutch Slave rod
Thanks guys, I'll get amongst it.
Looking at fork springs, linear or progressive - I have the hyperpro in my Buell, are they much better over the K Tech linear springs - I am 100kg without my kit on, so think that they may be better as they wont be as hard initially?
My bike has a CBR 600 fuel pump fitted to it, do they normally have a fuel pump? It seems to have an intermittent running issue, I don't know if it's on it's last legs or just has a loose connection, I'll investigate that when I can......apparently I have to fit the kitchen before I start on the track bike though

Re: Clutch Slave rod
The pump will only run (thock thock ) when it needs fuel ,so it'll not run all the time .
Re: Clutch Slave rod
it only happens after a long straight by any chance and only when you open the throttle again?...
somebody mentioned it. pull the pipes outa the v of the carbs, cut them a little as they are to long and point them downwards.
