Flat tyre in storage. Thoughts please.

Post by freeridenick »

I came to take the bike out of the shed today and the front was flat as a pancake, rear was down to 15psi. It held pressure all day and there's nothing in the tyre. I also soaked it with water and there were no leaks at the rim or valve.

It was last ridden at Donington in mid May where I had the tyres swapped - Dragon Super Corsa scrubs so they'd been stored for a bit.

It can get quite hot in the shed but I've got no other storage option. Am I right in thinking that they are just more porous than the last set I had on with the heat exacerbating the problem?

Did the air dig a tunnel and escape that way?
It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

Never store a flat tyre.
There's a lesson for us all right there.
Exasperating?
Oh yes.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Oh yes.
 typo corrected.

Checked it last night and it's holding air OK :?. I can't store the bike with the wheels off the ground so I'll just have to check regularly. These tyres will be near enough shot by the time I've been to Cadwell next week.
