You'll have to build that shoulder & arm up gradually to full strength. Take it easy & don't try to rush it.

Different veiw note the two ribs & how nicely they have healed...

Now as I know some of you like a bit of gore & these x-ray pics may seem a little boring & plain, heres some from an earlier injury...

The saga continues...

This morning I had a call from my 'line manager'... ''Morning Mac how are you.''

I said I was fine & it was nice that someone from work had actually called me to ask that...

I told him that this was the first phone call I've had from work since I had the accident back in OCT last year !

Anyway once that was out of the way the real reason he called came out...''I was expecting you in this morn as your sick note has run out...''

It has & it hasn't, the last time I wen't to sse the hosp the sick note he gave me was 3 weeks then phased return. I sent that in with a letter saying to the effect that they should book their occupational health doc's appointment in that time scale...in other words they had 3 weeks to sort out the appointment. I also went to the GP yesterday & got a light duties note to cover me on the 'phased return' ( I've told work this wont work as I have a Storm & not a Fazer... :tumbleweed: ) Which I sent in yesterday.

He was saying I was gonna send you out with one of the other guys, you would have been sitting in the van all day doing nothing...

Back in march when I first got signed off as fit to return light duties only I was told I couldn't come back in until I had seen their doc...that took 2 weeks until the appointment & two more weeks until his report came through then I had a back to work interveiw & went back into work a few days later.

Now rightly or wrongly I assumed it would be the same this time...He seems to think it isn't. I told him I had had no contact to tell me otherwise so as far as I was concerned it would follow the same routine as last time. He came back with it's assumed by the Council (the employer) that it's your responabilty to do the contacting...OK I have been in contact with his manager, every time I've sent a sick note in I have included a letter & have been sending e-mails as well. ''Oh right.''

''OK I'll speak with Pat (his manager) & get back to you... Not heard a thing all day of course.

They sit in the same bloody office FFS...

He said this morn he was only made aware of the sick note running out as he was told this morning.

Anyway postie has come this arvo & in the pile of trash is a letter from the Occupational Health bods I have an appiontment for...wait for it...16th of November... another bloody month away give or take.

I've e-mail the guv maybe I'll get some sence out of him about it...

Oh & my line manager is just back after extended leave as he had a year of sick & has had to take a load of hols as they accru whilst your off.

brewery up arrange a piss...

Typical managers Mac, they don’t talk to each other in fear of being given something else to do. Hope your doing well mate.

The only reason they are managers is because they can't do the work themselves

Email reply from the Guv.

''Mac,

Thanks for your email.

I am seeking HR advice on your situation and I will get back to you tomorrow.

Pat''

So my situation is I'm ready to back to work...I'm waiting for them to let me know when that will be...

So a call this PM...

'You have to come into work on Monday...'

OK.

'We will do a back to work interview & then you can go out with one of the other guys until further notice' ( that will be till they have the report back from the occupational health doc, appiontment on 16th Nov + the two weeks it take for their report to come through.)

Right so you want me to come in & sit in the van all day doing sweet FA ?

'Yes'

Haha OK I'll see you Monday then.

Total waste of your time Mac accept it keeps your managers from getting a bollocking from their managers which keeps them from getting a bollocking from their managers and so on. Personally I think your managers are now the pests and need exterminating. Usually the first managers are not so bad and are more or less on the level but as they move on up higher they get more and more brainwashed with management training etc and away from reality and the guys on the ground doing the real work that it becomes a mess. At the end of the day they will only look out for themselves along with their higher wage packet keeping those above them happy which keeps them in management. It's all bullshit mate. You just have to play the game or tell them to stick it. This is the problem when everyone is not on a level paying field...oops fraudulent slip, I meant playing field. Too many cooks spoil the broth. Unfortunately that's the corporate way and why the world is in such a mess. Just like politics.
