Plans for the winter?

Post by Kev L »

What mods, paint jobs, trips have you got planned for the cold season?
Mine involve getting the Yoshimura Downpipes refurbished and thrown on the storm.
Oh and getting the tyre valves replaced on both wheels, as they have rotted after a year :eek2
So what's your plans?
BTT trying to stay awake whenever he gets sight of his 'interesting' colourless bike!
Carl watching out for aliens abducting and giving him a good probing.
Agentpineapple researching ditches suitable for resting in whilst overtired on a motorcycle,
Tonymon not looking for anything to do on his SP2, honestly Mrs!
Mac applying a covering of tiny animal skins to his many motorcycles to disguise the truly awful colours!
Al McQ pondering, as he has done for years, why the delightful Mrs McQ had anything to do with Mo the barman from the Simpsons! (And doing more mods to make the storm suitable for his poor ageing bones!)
Pete L sitting looking out of the window watching the delightfully blue Suzook, corroding into the surface of the Planet, or at least Bristol which is almost planet Earth!
Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero
F3, 954 USD front, K Tech springs, Braced swinger, Penske shock, Six spoke Mockesini wheels, Harris rearsets, QaT, Flywheel diet!, A&L stacks, stick coils, K&N, FP Ti jets, lashings of Ti & CF

fairly spot on....
I have a set of six spokes lined up, I also need new tyres, new cush drive rubbers. a brembo clutch mc to match the brake mc, I still have the swingarm you had adapted for me to fit, plus a front sprocket cover.
so lots of little jobs, but seen as all the parts are in the uk and my bikes in Spain over winter, I doubt any of it will get done :(
oh and I want to get the small dent on the tank fixed..... :Cry1: :Cry1:
I will try my hardest to stay out of ditches, but I can't promise anything

Kev if you were any sharper you would cut yourself. with heated seats, grips i will ride up until Dec. I don't ever ride then as i don't want to risk an off and bugger up my ski holiday. soon as I've skied i will be back on the bike.

Plans are, both wheels off and painted/coated. swap the rear fairing for a black one. Clean the downpipes until i can shave in them  and grease up all the linkages with Klubber. maybe change the fork oil. France trip in April.
missing the noise, not the vibes. However never say never!

If I were to be saving tiny animal skins, I'd be saving them up to make winter biking undercrackes for the looming winter commute...

Gonna need a lot of mice best get saving...

cheeky cow!!!!!!!!! I will have you know MrsMcQ was batting above her league when she got me! ............

as for the bike (s)
1) get my mates Ducati 250 single up and running so it will be legal / reliable and safe next year.
2) KH125 - just cosmetic stuff to keep the corrosion at bay
3) VTR - track day later this month, then braced swingarm and matching Hugger
4) Trials bike - ride it
6) Enduro Bike - ride it or sell it as I haven't used it since I did the top end refresh.

change the oil and the pipes(oil) it might need a new chain and sprockets.

weather permitting I ride all winter but that means it wont be getting covered in crap.

oh yeah I think the exhausts might need repacking as well ? its pretty loud at the moment. is excessive noise the main symptom ?

Ouch! The truth does hurt a little bit.

A new front tyre will be on the menu soon but first I have to think of a way to tell the wife I've just ordered some new suspenders :shh:
