Sounds like you've been getting properly stuck in, with more than one awkward job as well.

another day, another list of jobs completed, removed and replaced the end cans with oem items, I also realised the oem cans have had a partial bafflectomy...
cleaned the chain and fitted a chainguard, fitted some oem bellypan brackets, rubbed down and painted an oem bellypan I found in the back of the shed.
cleaned the rear end and the rear headers.
carl popped round for a cuppa coffee and a chat, so I roped him into doing some work, he fitted the rear pads...
I painted the side stand black.
I've also come up against another issue, one of the chain adjuster holes in the swingarm has lost some of it's thread, so i'll need to tap & die it... :(
next job will be the rear wheel.

cheers paul.....
i'm waiting on the front pads and vtr decals, and for the seller to send on the rear seat cowl, then I hope to get some rear numberboards made up to cover the nasty purple....
I still have to paint the rear wheel and undertray, sort out the indicators, fit a bar end. sort out the lhs chain adjuster and maybe buy some cush drive rubbers and a new numberplate, then it'll be off for a new mot and job done. I bloody well hope my mate appreciates it.....

Good work Marty, It's looking nice and tidy now fella
Just wondered why your mate wants standard cans?
Or is that part of the payment for the restoration.

he just likes the standard look mate, the cans have had a partial bafflectomy, so they're a bit raspier.....
I must be getting old, as I rather like the standard look. you try getting 4 x good condition oem indicators, bloody expensive.... :(
that's the one thing I ain't going to be doing, as I don't want to mess with the front's, which would be better with clear lenses, and I really don't like the rears. to old fashioned. I like these cbr125 knock off's.....

managed a little more today, dodging the showers....
fitted a freshly painted oem bellypan, removed all the poxy alloy engine bolts, very stressful adding more and more pressure to the t-bar praying they don't snap. :eek2
so far so good.
I also primed and sprayed the purple undertray, can you guess what colour it is...
I also found a couple of original tank bolts, to replace the ropey non standard jobbies.

YMV will get there in time.....
and yes the undertray is silver....
completed a few more jobs this morning, I finshed rubbing down and prepping the rear wheel, then sprayed it SILVER!!!
i'm starting to get fed up with silver.....
I also fitted the new front pads, and i'm well proud of myself, because I repaired a damaged thread on the swingarm, one of the chain adjuster bolt holes had been damaged, so I decided to use a cheap tap n die set that I bought 2yrs ago, a bit tricky because I needed to get the angle right, but all went well and it's good as gold.... :biggrin

Silver is an awful colour to spray with, actually Silver is an awful colour. Try Titanium next  The problem with Silver is that it don't know whether it wants to be Black or White so ends up somewhere in the middle

I have to agree that silver isn't the greatest of colours, but at least it'll be nice and clean when it's completed....
