A few bits and pieces FS, Sevenoaks

Post by tony.mon »

I was hunting round the garage and stock shed for some parts and found a few things for a storm that I don't need anymore.
They're listed on eBay, ending in a week, but if anyone on here wants them I can end early.

1 HRC coolant bottle reservoir.
2 headlight relay kit to get a nice bright light without dazzling people and annoying the MOT bloke.
3 cct locking key.

What I didn't list, but might be of interests on here is the fuel pump I put together to go with the HRC reservoir.
Using the HRC bottle, which fits neatly on top of the the rad, tucking into the fairing side, means that you can free up space where the STD reservoir sits, by removing it.
The fuel pump fits neatly in the vee.

When I fitted it I had problems keeping the fuel flowing- it turned out that the early model vac fuel tap would shut when the pump was "sucking" harder than the vacuum.
All that is needed is to make a small modification to the fuel tap diaphragm to make sure it can't fully close. I used a paper clip!

Then it all works fine.

So that fuel didn't escape when you disconnected the fuel lines I fitted dry break connectors, but a simple tap would do.

Fitting a fuel pump ensures good fuel supply at any angle of lean, and gives a steady pressure under hard braking or acceleration.
Useful on the road, ideal for trackdays.

If any one is interested I can bundle the reservoir and pump for £25 posted.

Have a little think about it- what else you gonna do Christmas afternoon?
