So, I am rebuilding a 1973 Honda SL125. It's the wife's engagement present, instead of a ring.
I've had it for years, rebuilt it once, years ago, and it's not been ridden since. I knew I'd have to get some parts rechromed, and buy a fair few parts, but the biggest problem turned out to be finding the twist grip- they're an odd, ribbed design, no pattern ones are anything like it. Funnily enough the LH side comes up quite often, but the RH side is rocking horse poo.
So when I found a NOS original one in the USA I stumped up the asking price plus postage and packing, and customs- 85 quid......Deep breath, hit buy, the bike would look gash with modern grips.

It arrived today.

Absolutely as described, new old stock, perfect. So I took it up to the garage and put it in the box of parts I'd bought so far, right next to the exact same one I found in there that I must have bought 25 or 30 years ago but never fitted. Now, how did that get there?

So I've just relisted my "new" one, so that somebody else can finish their rebuild project. I'll lose the shipping and customs, but so be it. That'll teach me to keep an inventory instead of just putting boxes on shelves.

It appears I have the memory of a ....what's it called, the orange wet thing, round and round...... wet thing, in water.....never mind, it'll come to me.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Maybe he was upset by the clutch line running on the steering damper like that. It would upset me.
