Linkage ratio

Post by popkat »

This is not something I've worked out, I could work it out but would involve removing my shock and measuring which will take time to do, so to save me loads of (possibly unnecessary) work does anyone know the ratio ?

My bike is sitting 15mm higher than a standard bike measured from rear of tail piece to swingarm, I have a 3mm shock spacer and I've lengthened the shock a bit, For my notes need to know how much by, for example if my shock is 2mm longer then the ratio is 3 to 1, if it's 4.5mm the ratio would be 2 to 1, If it's just 0.75mm longer then it's 4 to 1.. Cheers.

Rising rate ratio of the storm linkage is roughly 2:1

Making the shock longer by 3mm is same as putting in a 6mm spacer hope that helps malc.
Why ask... sometime you just go to do it and find out?

Cheers Marky, So me shock is just a couple of mm longer, 15mm at rear of bike doesn't seem to far, gonna take it out tomorrow and see if it tank slaps  if it does i'll have to try and get the steering damper bracket fixed.
