"Upon inspection of the spark plugs, I noticed the rear plug was fouled with carbon deposits while the front looked pretty standard for a bike with 35k km. Anyway, concluding that everything was operating correctly"

Why assume that when one plug was fouled everything was operating correctly?

So it's running rich on the rear, or there's an electrical reason- poss plug, poss coil, poss lead.
As Carl says, try adjusting mixture but if it isn't that, check out the electrics.

Last possibility, badly routed choke cable?
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Hello and welcome to the forum Karim   My bike was running rough popping and banging but it was traced to carbs not seated properly. It still gives the odd carb fart now and then, but a massive improvement thanks to a man who keeps spiders in his garage.
SO WHEN DOES THIS OLD ENOUGH TO KNOW BETTER KICK IN
