Optimate 4

Post by Stormchaser »

Hi there, I've just bought an Optimate 4 but i'm not sure it's working? I plugged it into the mains and the green "on" light came on, but nothing has changed since connecting to the bike 3 hours ago. My old Opti-something charger always flashed dependent on what it was doing at the time (checking, maintaining, charging, etc) this just sits there with only the "on" light lit up. Can't be right surely?

Check the fuse on your optimate cable.

Usually as soon asI plug mine in you see the yellow charging lights all lit up.

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

Thanks Guys, problem solved. I was attaching the charger to an existing fixed input, and the wires on the lead attached to the positive terminal were completely severed!
