fresh paint

Post by agentpineapple »

as some of you may know, I took a detour during our trip to Devon  , which left my bike looking slightly worse for wear. :(

on my return to London I spent a little time trying to find a bike painter in London, not an easy task. eventually my friend put me onto a guy called rob in Upminster, a little bit of a journey, I know it well as it's where I used to live before moving to Spain.
took a ride up to meet rob and show him the 2 panels that needed spraying. he seemed a nice chap. I left the panels with him and the single seat cowl so he could get a good colour match.
today I collected the panels, and i'm more than happy for the price I paid, he was honest a showed me a couple of imperfections in the paint. I applauded his honesty.
the yellow is a pretty good match with no faint area's, which can be an issue with pearlescent paint.
I also decided to change the colour of the headlight surround. not sure of the paint code. I just told him I wanted a very bright white. as I think it goes well against the yellow.
so here she is, all ready for an mot in the morning.

Looking good Marty 8) 8)
Good job with the paintwork knowing how hard it is to get an half descent match with that yellow. I like the white headlamp surround

Good luck with the mot tomorrow,

Chris.

I did the fork lowers myself, whilst the forks were apart and being repaired. the colour is darker than I would have liked, bmw graphite something or other. lets see how long it lasts, i'm happy with robs work, he's also sorting me out some touch up paint, as there's a few marks on the rest of the bike.
thanks for the kind comments, i'll just wait for mac to say something negative....
