i used simoniz high temp black which has come out satin but gives a nice contrast with the covers, just been reading through the cct threads and mine have a pink dot on them which i'm lead to believe have been changed by honda so i think i will do the stopper mod while the motor is in a easy position .

What a cracking job you have done there, very impressed

I am part way through doing my fork legs silver at the top and black at the bottom, but I think I might just copy your gold ohlins look instead of black.

Congratulations on completing the job, well done
It looks amazing 8) 8) the black frame works much better with the red paintwork than I had expected

The paintwork on the forklegs (as already mentioned) looks the dogs,

Chris.

VERY nice job from start to finish. Quality photos too!

My only thing which is a bug-bear for me...is all that work.....and then it's got those huge MARLBORO decals on it, the Wiseco on the nice painted frame, and the AFAM on the swing arm. I can forgive the Michelin man, as it doesn't say the brand (whilst there's a Metz on the front and Pirelli on the rear  )

Personally, the bike would look cleaner (and the eye not detracted away from all your effort) if they were removed.

In my opinion (and it's just mine....but may be shared, who knows?), if the named parts are not contained within a bike (any bike), then why put their decals on advertising them?

I don't get paid to advertise from EBC, DID, ESSO, Bridgestone, Silkolene or NGK (all products I use on, or in my bike), so their stickers just get slung in the bin and don't go anywhere near my paintwork.

As much as I love the new transformed bike Gaz....I hate seeing those decals on it. Sorry man!

*runs away sharpish before I get chased down the road, banned, blocked and swore at...
If it ain't broken...f*ck about with it until it is.

I love the black frame and wish I had a magic wand to do mine
I have stickers on mine and I love them,
My mate on the other hand hates them and hates that they are laquered over so they can't come off :D
I love your bike mate and the effort that has gone in to it
Well done

Stickers are indeed a personal choice.

It could have been worse, comparing it to some others out there...

They actually have a name for this: It's called Sticker Bombing.

Erm, yes, a Heron Suzuki sponsored by Durex.

If I got paid by Durex to advertise their products, then yes, I'd happily slap their stickers all over me bike.

But I'm not one to run around on a race replica bike (all the Repsol Honda replicas and Valentino 46 painted up stuff - not my cup of tea). You get a bike like that, and you have to get the race leathers as well - otherwise you look silly.

But, running a race liveried bike, with replica race leathers with sponsorship patches also looks daft heading down yer high street. Is this guy lost? Excuse me mate....the nearest race track is 100 miles away!

I did put a suggestion to a local shop with unique logos if they fancied clarting a white ex police ST100 Pan European in their signage. The shop already has a deal with a coach company liveried out in ''Spotty Bag'' colours...Just the one coach mind you, so it's rare to see it.

Image

He said ''HOLY CRAP YES!''....''That'd be fabulous and great for the shop!'' ''Imagine....a Spotty Bag Bike!''

So, heading into his office to discuss him paying for the bike to be sign written up was ok....but I said I wanted something back in return, as I ain't advertising for free out of the goodness of my heart. Hell no - it's a business deal. He would have to pay me ''x-amount'' for fuel and running costs (not much, but a contribution), the bonus being people in numerous towns get to see the bike.

As soon as I said it's a ''sponsorship deal'', he backed out and changed his mind. OK, I'm out on the bike anyway, but on my own, no graphics, I take control of the costs. But, to run liveried up for someone, they HAVE to meet you with a deal to help you along.

Yes? No?

And I don't get the 1340 under the cover? It's got crash bars on it, so I think Sirs are taking the urine with me being an old fuddy-duddy!???
