An Introduction

Post by 62BSA »

Hello everyone
I've been a happy VTR1000F owner for over 10 years. I also own a variety of other bikes mostly 60's and 70's models.
Recently my riding has changed some. I do a lot of commuting and some touring now as well as periodic weekend mourning blasts through our Northern Illinois countryside.
My Superhawk is my regular work horse and I've been pretty happy with its ability to fill many roles.
Thank you
62B.S.A.

My garage is pretty happy right now. In there are a
'98 VTR1000F getting a new charging system currently.

'62 BSA C15 it's a 250cc single a very dependable bike.

'72 Norton Commando a cafe racer moded.

'82 Suzuki PE 175 put a lot into suspension and an engine rebuild on this but it's a real blast at the dirt track.

'60 something Benelli Fireball 50 in bad need of a engine rebuild. Who am I kidding it needs about everything.
For my boys
A Yamaha TTR 125 and a Honda XR70.

Thanks for asking about the bikes. The Norton is my first street bike so I've had it for more than 30 years.
Oddly, my lovely Wife reminded me this morning that today is our 15 year anniversary with the VTR1000F!
What other bikes do you guys have?
Any other dirt bike riders out there on this forum?

Welcome aboard.

That's an eclectic mix.
I well remember my mates SS80 C15 we used to be about neck and neck most of the time. I was on a CG125, my first bike still remember the reg and exactly how much I paid!!!

Welcome aboard

My first ever motorcycle for riding around the fields on our farm was a BSA C15 8)
That was decades ago, I wish I still had it,

Chris.

I only bought my ‘Brit’ bike recently, I came into riding in 75 when the Jap invasion was in full swing.
I bought a 1969 Triumph Daytona T100t to go along with the 2003 VTR. I’ve also got a 75 Suzuki GT250M with the all important(!!!!) RamAir system. Hmmmm.
I’ve still got my sons Yamaha FS1Ea 1977 autolube, last of the pedal models.
Kawasaki Kx80 1984 much like you, in need of a rebuild.
We don’t grow up, the toys just get bigger!

Wow, you all have a bunch of cool bikes! We don't really have any FS1 over here and C15 are a little rare too. I do like a nice T100. The only Triumph I ever owned was a T160. Man that was a fun bike.

I'm not doing much riding now besides taking 'em around the neighborhood. I'm afraid the Suzuki is going to make me a little unpopular with my neighbors.

Any of you doing any riding?

Any of you have any interesting mods on your VTRs? Mine is pretty standard besides adjustable fork internals, springs and braided break lines .
I'd be very interested to see if anyone has mounted a nice set of panniers and how they worked it around the silencers.

Welcome to the forum

Lots of strange bikes in this group.

My collection sits at
1976 Kawasaki KH125, been in the family since new.
VTR which I have had for about 20 yrs
Gasgas 200 enduro bike
GasGas 250 trials bike
Chinese 160cc pitbike supermoto racer
And the latest toy in the garage is a 2014 KTM 1190Adventire, that was my brothers winter bike before he died :( (in 2 days it will be 1 year since it happend). .... I ride that in his memory, and like him it is mad as Feck

Enjoy the forum

Hi there and welcome.

Yep, I could foresee the BSA being listed in your collection.

I'm not a dirt bike rider, but a 'road' specialist and Honda devotee, although I do have an 2007 MV F4 and 2020 Triumph Daytona Moto 2 LE. :D
