Hi from East Herts

Post by JazzmasterJ »

Hello all,

Thanks for accepting me on to the forum. Bought my bright orange 2001 storm a week ago which I’ll be using as my year round commuter. It’s my first ‘proper’ big bike having come from a Blue 2002 Bandit 600s which a Jaguar SUV kindly binned - but to be honest I can’t imagine going back!
The previous owner kept stock mufflers but removed the baffles and it sounds like Satan’s bulldog! I’m absolutely addicted to the noise and turbulence the engine makes, as well as the power delivery.

Having trawled through the forum a bit it seems there are some very talented engineers among you, whose ear I look forward to bending as I attempt to continue learning how to look after the storm. I’m a drummer by trade (cue jokes), so what I lack in engineering aptitude I make up for with enthusiasm! (Although I’m lucky to have a father in law who is a retired life long mechanic to tut in my direction)

Look forward to learning and getting to know you. If anyone knows of a place to find an orange rear hugger I’d be grateful!

Cheers,

Jon

East Herts I think...Or maybe the post tag 'Hi from East Herts...' is just a ploy to put us all off...

Thanks for the welcome! Cheers Mac I’ll look into those - May end up going carbon if I can find an orange belly pan/ fairing lower (the current one is grey)... quite like the full fairing look achieved by a few I’ve seen. Failing that I might start looking into how much it would cost to buy uncoated and get it colour matched - I’m assuming that’s pretty costly mind...

I’m based in Ware (where? Hahaha!) are you guys local? Already enjoying the sledging.
