New to the forum and the bike

Post by bobbler »

Hi all,

I've finally bitten the bullet and bought myself a 97 VTR running project and I can't believe I didn't do it sooner as I've wanted a big twin since I sold my little 675cc engined Ducati ss years ago. Having had plenty of 4cyl bikes the big v-twin is a bit different but I'm getting used to it a bit more every ride.

Pics to follow, it's not the tidiest of bikes and cosmetically quite unloved but the engine is a peach and sounds great with a couple of harpoon cans.

Work planned so far are new pads, flat bar conversion and mcct. There will probably be more but we all have to start somewhere.

A recent picture of the new toy. Needs a good clean, a general service and a belly pan. The luggage rack is going to be removed and refitted better, I'll just need to find the time to fabricate a few bits at work.

Thanks, It's pretty loud and sounds great but maybe bordering on too loud if that's possible. I may have to invest in a couple of db killers for the early morning starts or I'll have some pi$$ed off neighbours after a while.
