Greetings from southern california!

Ill never forget the first time i saw a superhawk at laguna seca for the world superbike races in the late 90's. There is a picture of me on one somewhere...

Im not sure what it was about it but it stuck in my mind.

Over the years i have come sooo close to buying one, several times. The last Time it was between a vtr and an sv1000 with 1200 miles. I went for the SV and didnt like it at all but it was good for me To get that out of my system because it lead me to my Speed Triple which is imho the most exciting street bike ever made.

Anywyas, recently i made a terrible trade for a VTR....its very strange To have known of this bike for so long and now finally have one.

Just sayin hi. Pics and thread to come

Cheers

I have to say, the bike impressed me. I had an SV1000 for about a year that I bought, passing up a VTR.

The SV is an ok bike but I believe that the VTR is better even with it's age.

I did ~250 miles on it on Saturday, really putting it through its paces and stretching its legs. Getting it up over a ton etc and man... what a fantastic engine!

the PO put a 190 rear tire on which makes it a bit sluggish, left to right so when the rear is toast (soon, right?) I'll put a 180 back on there

Their range - both of them - is pretty terrible. The last straw for me on the SV was I was out playing one morning and the fuel light came on at 78 miles!!

Anyways, I traded a ZX6R for the VTR and I kind of got hosed in the transaction but I really didnt like the Kawi and really REALLY wanted the bloody VTR already.

Ill post up a thread as Im going to need your collective help as this bike was not very well looked after...

Thanks, chaps!

Hopefully by now you've forgotten the trade imbalance getting your SupaHawk? Feels better I'm sure.
