nascar crash

Post by agentpineapple »

jesus christ, i've just seen some raw footage of the crash at the daytona 500 support race, a fella filmed it on his mobile phone, he was standing next to the person that got hit by the wheel and tyre, you don't realise how bloody fast those things are going, i wish a speedy recovery for all that were injured.
even an engine went thru the fence covering people in oil, very scary stuff, it will make you think twice about standing so close to the action....

Motor Racing Is Dangerous...

Is printed on all the tickets, probably even a bigger disclosure on US tickets knowing their law suite happy culture.

I wonder if they get to keep the wheel as a souvenir ?

Lets face it, why do we watch motor sports ? Overtakes & crashes...mainly crashes . Otherwise its just round & round racing as a friend of mine used to call it...

So true.
With the safety rules and regs there are less accidents and it's not as fun.

Different series IRL,think she's still racing...

I sit corrected, http://www.danicaracing.com

Didn't realise she had swapped to Nascar.

The big crash was in a support race not the actual NASCAR Daytona 500.

She's a bit naughty you go to her official website and it locks you in and you can't use your browsers back button to get out.

what did you want carl, limbs flying everywhere, blood splattered camera lense. i certainly wouldn't want to be there, nascar must be one of the only sporting events where people will be only the width of a wall away from motors travelling over 200mph, i doubt theres a fence that would protect the fans properly when the brown stuff hits the fan....

They probably could create a fence that would be able to do it , they just need to sack the commentators to be able to afford it. Don't even see the point of them, there's like 4 turns and they're all left

Exactly. where was the engine anyway. I was expecting to see a block flying through the air.

How about the TT, I have seen footage of a cameraman standing behind a wall about a metre away as the bike goes screaming past close to 200mph. And at the TT there is no fence. :biggrin
