Sometimes I can look at a bike and either drool or vomit. I really am undecided on this. I'm not really a fan of 'sharp' fairing lines, and that bike is a semi-throwback to the bikini fairing clad bikes of the late 70s. (I do note they're calling it a 'retro' look)

Putting on my consumer's cap, I wouldn't buy one or the kit!

Nice little homage to the original - wasn't that impressed with the looks of Suzuki's retro revamp

Wonder if anyone has done a Katana with TL1000 engine

Funnily enough early VTR concept/ prototype

I think they have made a good effort there
To me though it looks better in the first photo rather than the second,

No

the official "new" Katana looks ok, just a few easy tweaks to make it really good. can't change the stupid 12 litre fuel tank though which is why they can't sell many..

I wish it was just left at that. the world doesn't need katana clones. the 80's Kats and this new Suzuki one, maybe a bigger tanked, supercharged update later, that'll do

The scooter from years ago, NO, the American gsxf teapot katana's, NO

I like it. I was soo excited when suzuki 1st started releasing images of the new Katana concept and was ready to take out a loan when they started taking deposits for the first run, but then when it came out, i found myself hating it more and more. Its just superfluous styling on an existing commuter bike with high handle bars and a dorkus malorkus riding position.
This i like though, just needs a more potent base bike.

I like it - was a toss up between the XSR700 and new SV650X, if I'd have bought the latter I would have deffo put that kit on it.

Mac, they no longer do the SV1000, stopped making them in 2007 I believe.
I'm so unlucky that if there is such a thing as re-incarnation I'll come back as me!
