Cheshire Cat

Post by Vtr Guy »

Well ive finally got my bright yellow storm . I had a quick test ride before i bought it. Ive been out for around three hours since picking it up and i got a grin like a Cheshire Cat . I havnt ridden for many years so i took things very carefully but it does encourage you to go quicker . First impressions are very good . It does pop and bang sometimes when throttling off . Carb set up mabe ? . I will book it in at Chris Halls in Doncaster get it set up and the dreaded ACCTs changed . Apart from that some tlc over the winter .
Sorry post so long lol

Welcome in, a poppin & a banging on the overrun may just be an air leak in the exhaust system joints. Have a poke around & make sure thay are all tight. The joint at the rear header to main header pipe has a habbit of rotting away...

Mines done two ! As long as the graphite gasket has not blown you can get away with just repacing the clamp...Undo it fully & pull the band out. Wrap it round do it back up.

If the graphite gasket has blown out/is missing then the whole system has to be dropped by undoing the front header... 8O

Has it got standard cans on it ? If they have been put on just for sale maybe the graphite gaskets are just missing but there is a clamp on each joint there as well so again start off by checking they are tight.

Parts 5 & 6 are the graphite gaskets... Its a yank site so in $'s but part numbres are correct so just copy & paste into Folwers or David silvers sites for genuine...e-bay for coppies.

Making up since 2007, sometimes it's true...Honest...

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.
