VTR Alternative Bodywork

Post by crisp »

Hi!

I'm new to the forum, having just picked up my first FireStorm.

I've had quite the google search, along with searching on this forum, but looking to see what other people have done, who you've used and the traps to avoid.

I'm sure the comment is going to come up, "if you didn't like the look of the F, then why did you buy it", but I'm sure like everyone else, we all like to customise our bikes in our own way (budget and time dependant). Beauty is always in the eye of the beholder.

One consideration is this... SP1 look a like:

https://www.poly26.com/honda-vtr-1000-f ... type_piste

This link brings up a few ideas:

https://www.motoforzafairings.com/galle ... -firestorm

I think this has been floating on the net for a while...

http://web.tiscali.it/mario_nava/vtr1000_racing_e.html

Then there is the option of just adding a lower...

https://www.skidmarx.co.uk/fairings-low ... ing-lowers
https://www.powerbronze.co.uk/honda-vtr ... -h101.html

I'm assuming the headlight conversion from powerbronze is discontinued.

Then all the undertails from the usual suspects above, but this is a company that I've not come accross:

https://www.mototeckinnovation.com/prod ... ductid=595

Is there any update to this:

Any help or advice anyone can give would be greatly appreciated.

You could always Street fighter it and pretend you dropped it but can't afford a replacement fairing....
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

I really like the streetfighter look, but the aim of this bike is to give it more of a racing stance.

Thanks BrianC for the offer of the SP bodywork.

StuartWags, what condition is the skidmarxs fairing in? Is it this one? https://www.skidmarx.co.uk/fairings-low ... ing-lowers

What do you need for it?

The best one I've seen, apart from mario nava, is a guy in japan fitted an r6 fairing. It was on one of the facebook pages a few years ago
