Echo all the above. Five years, crazy.

Anyone know if the bench is still there?

bench was still there last time I called in, but that was 2yrs ago.

it is a hefty bit of wood, so I doubt anyone will run off with it.

when you are all in wales in September you need to call in at the campsite and make sure it is still being used and abused as a place to drink and laugh with friends

Hi, First Post on here.
On Sunday, Benny's birthday, I went to visit the Bench.
The touring field was full of diggers, churned up and fenced off, with no sign of the Bench.
Returning home I contacted the C&CC, the new owners and received the following:

Hello Mr Cabernet

I have enquired with the team at Wyeside and they have responded as shown below which I hope is referring to the bench you are enquiring about.

If I can be of further help please let me know.

Regards, John

From site;

We do not know the name of the deceased but the only memorial bench the site inherited is the large oak picnic style table/bench very heavy, this was at the far end of the camping field.

Friend of deceased – Mr Kevin Williams (Cheeky Kev) visited site 16/9/2018 to pour a can of beer over the bench to share with the departed. We had a long chat and agreed that the bench would be relocated to Waun Capel Parc when the refurbishment starts and that will become its permanent home.

It was relocated by the contractors when the refurb started.

It’s just outside the other side of the sites boundary hedge outside the all weather pitch. The volunteers may end up relocating it at some point but it will remain in Waun Capel Parc until it becomes unusable.

That's the little park we walked through to get to the pubs in town, where the first Duck Race ended.

Mind you, what he'd have thought of wasting perfectly good beer instead of drinking it, I cannot imagine...
