Looks like you had an amazing, if not extremely long ride down. The scenery look stunning and a great backdrop. Of course would have been a lot easier on a black bike.

if I was to recommend a trip it would be this, you can either ride down through france on the way down or up, but I would highly recommend that one of journeys be on the bilbao/Santander ferry. more relaxing less wear and tear on the bikes and riders.
so for me i'd ride down through france stick to the smaller roads, there isn't much in the way of traffic. stay away from the bigger cities, unless that's your thing. take at least 3 days, doing roughly 300 miles a day, that way it won't seem like hard work. ride down to the east side of the pyrenee's.
then work your way west, criss crossing the mountains, if you want faster smoother roads stay just south in spain. your always welcome to stay at my guesthouse in catalunya for as long as needed, forum rates apply.
then just keep heading west, you won't be disappointed, then get one of the ferries back to the uk....
one hell of a trip that you'll never forget.
8 or 9 days of fun. great weather, great food and drink, and fantastic roads and scenery
