Is anyone into photography? Always fancied a good camera looking to start with a canon 350D as a cheap entry level dslr anyone got any idea about them or a good cheap camera.

Re: Photography
A good entry level is a Nikon D3300 with kit VR II lense.
Also a lot will depend on the type of photography you want to get into, landscape, sport portrait etc.
plenty of good second hand gear to be had for cheap just to get you started and get used to the settings

I use a Canon EOS 40D. I did think about upgrading it a few years back. In the end I stuck with the 40D. I'm not sure how much/little you know about photography, but the lense is just as important as the camera.
A used 40D can be picked up really cheaply now, but it doesn't have video.
Here's a link comparing the 350D and the 40D:-

Re: Photography
Nice camera and kit, bit more than I'd initially like to pay while learning plus how much I'd actually use it I'm not sure. Main use is for capturing some nice scenery while out on the bike plus maybe the odd track day pictures.hallie wrote:A good entry level is a Nikon D3300 with kit VR II lense.

Don't know a awful lot not too worried about video so something like that would do. Seen some cheap Nikon coolpix l820 with similar specs to the 350D for £80 seems a lot of camera for that money.sirch345 wrote:I use a Canon EOS 40D. I did think about upgrading it a few years back. I did have a quick look at the L820 spec's. The only thing that stuck out for me would be the lack of a hot shoe, meaning you can't add an external flash.uk13iker wrote:There was a Nikon L820 local on gumtree picked it up this morning great camera like new they only used it on there honeymoon paid £70 will do me for now.

I can't see you can go wrong though with your purchase at that price. I hope they remembered to delete the honeymoon photo's
Good luck with your new hobbie, photography can be a lot of fun,
Chris.
Re: Photography
Haha yes they had deleted them. I took a few pictures in the garden today I'm impressed with the picture quality.sirch345 wrote:I did have a quick look at the L820 spec's. Nice and although phones can take pretty good pic's you can instantly see the difference in quality with using a dedicated camera made to do one thing and not do everything.
Lloydie nice pics but check out ProCamera from Cocologics as an app to add a whole new dimension to things.
