the company shed mersea island

Post by bazzashadow »

a long time ago someone posted on here a picture of a sea food platter from the company shed on Mersea island( just came in my head as I type, was under fish and chips I think)
since I sore that picture I have promised that me and the missus would pop down and try it.
I was thinking of going this weekend but after looking on google I`m not sure what to do.
the company shed gets 4.4 rating on their review and the west mersea oyster bar get 4.6 with more reviews so I`m after some help as to what one to go to
hope you can help
thanks

With the Company Shed it will be busy come what may - you can take your own booze and bread (don't forget your own butter) as they serve soley seafood - There's a French bakery on the way as you drive into Mersea http://thecompanyshed.co

Oyster Bar - also very good but differ in that you can get conventional Fish & Chips and is slightly more polished premises http://www.westmerseaoysterbar.co.uk

Don't go on Monday! As to which one to go to - Company Shed , as that was first and the queque to get in won't be wrong. Plus you sit surrounded by bubbling tanks of what you choose to eat.

Next time try the Oyster Bar.

PS Check Mersea tide timetables as you might be delayed getting in (go to Peldon Rose) or trappped on the Island.

Have fun and take some pics!

I did work on the island laying a water main across the causeway
and went out in the high tide to rescue a damsel in distress on my jcb :D (long story)
I did look back after remembering wicky and it was you that posted about the company shed

Merseaites have plenty of water, and an excess at high tide!

Never buy a vehicle from Mersea :eek2

For pudding ( goat milk icecream) after seafood on Mersea Island I recommend you pop in to The Crafty Goat Ice Cream Parlour in Abberton :cool2

The Crafty Goat' Butterfly Lodge Dairy, Mersea Road, Abberton, Colchester CO5 7LG
