I'm a heating and renewables engineer. I design heat pump systems along with integration into existing properties and new build. If anyone needs help with the MCS or RHI let me know because it's a right ball ache!! I need a new job!

Now a Chief Engineer. Best job I've ever had if i am honest. looking after 4 Gas Engines an AD Plant and all our Equipment and Vehicles. 2 extremely nasty Shredding and Crushing machines and 10 Loading shovels and 2 x360,s Big boys toys really. :thumbup:
missing the noise, not the vibes. However never say never!

I know what you mean by big boys toys. I spent 30 years doing demolition on 360's. The largest was an O&K HR40 that weighed in at 110 tons. Great fun.

AD is Anaerobic Digestion, basically old food, squashed, into liquid form, into a tank with no air, rots down and make Methane gas. Burn that in the engines, pasturise the old liquid and flog to farmers as fertiliser.

Flog the electric back to the Grid.

interesting stuff. We also recycle 150,000 tonnes of compost, 200,000 tonnes of top soil, 100,000 tonnes of street sweepings etc. all technical waste stuff turned into good stuff.

Oh and we process over 500 tonnes a day of wood into chipping, pellets and sawdust.

Cool stuff, I think they are using similar plant in Germany to put into the natural gas grid. It's the way forward. ImageI have specified a few biomass systems for commercial premises such as converted barns and Col U training ground. They use wood pellets, all clever fun stuff.
