What's your day job?

Post by tony.mon »

I know there must be people on here who would be able to assist others with work on their houses, cars, whatever.
At the moment I'm after two pvc doors and two pvc windows fitting, also a wood burner flue putting in.

I'm going to end up with picking someone from the internet, but it occurred to me that there must be people on here that (geography permitting) could offer services to other owners- at least we'll be dealing with someone we "know".

So what's your trade?

Usually keep this secret but a few in here do know.

My "trade" meant that when I called in at Bury Hill this afternoon in my work car I got a lot of dirty looks.

The only thing I can really help with is legislation. Even then a lot of it is a grey area!
If you don't try you never know if you can do it.

I run an Alarm Receiving Centre - monitoring fire/intruder/hold-up alarms etc. I'm not much use unless you have an alarm at work or home that needs responding to when it triggers I'm afraid!
I'm so unlucky that if there is such a thing as re-incarnation I'll come back as me!

I've got a decent tool kit, a little bit of knowledge (dangerous), and am happy to help people servicing or fixing their bikes.

As a day job I used to command a Battery of these.....

I now command a desk in the Ministry of Defence :(
