Engine sounds in movies

Post by Motomvk »

Went to see Deadpool last night, overall a great watch, really enjoyed it..

But once again I've noticed that whenever there is a scene with a motorbike in the original engine sound has been dubbed over for effect, nothing wrong with this really if its enhanced..

The problem is the sound of the panigale used in the scene has been dubbed over with the sound of an inline 4, and it infuriates me!

The first time I noticed this was in the Transformers film, where whats his face picks up an RSV1000 that apparently has had an inline 4 engine swap... I threw my TV out the window!

V TWINS SOUND BETTER ANYWAY!!!! it drives me mad!!!!

Anyway rant over, has anyone else ever noticed this? either in these films or any others?

I've seen motocross two strokes with 4 cylinder overdubs. Can't remember where.

One of my all time favourite films is Electra glide in blue. Not because it's a "biker" film but just because it's brilliant. The one thing in it that riles me is the corny bike scenes when Robert Blake is chasing the bad guys.

Crossplane 4's and V4's sound very similar, I think the Xplane one just mimmicks the firing order of a V4?

Triples sound epic as well..

Has there ever been a bike that sounded crap though with a pipe on? A lot of stock systems are too quiet but I can't think of a bike that sounds crap with an aftermarket exhaust

My nomination for naughtiest sounding motorbike ever is this...

I wouldn't be bothered at all if they over dubbed the panigale with this sound

As far as I can remember, in the original film the Terminator is riding a 4 cylinder Honda that sounds like a twin...
