Free Horsepower...

I'm moving house soon, so I am in the process of clearing out all my accumulated crap. I no longer have a compressor or spray gun, so when I found a half tin of thinners I knew I had no real use for it.

I took off the lid and it still smelled good (doesn't it always?) so I wondered how to dispose of it...Hmm. I wonder if I could top up my tank???

Long story short - in it went and what a difference!! Like riding with rocket fuel!

I'm not sure on the long term effects on the engine, but it's like it's had a turbo fitted!!

To be sure, I booked it into Firefox and got it on the Dyno....extra 15Bhp!!!

Beats paying big money!!

LOL Bloody hell mate that was a gamble. I would not advice doing that on a regular basis for the same reason we should not use race fuel. One will end up detonating their engine. Extra horses are not always a good thing as things can be too fast to cope ie advanced and the rest of the engine and electrical components has not got time to catch up.

Think of it like a Roman chariot race. One with 2 horses and one with 4. The one with 4 may be too fast so the handler can not control things as easily and end up crashing. The one with 2 is a bit more slower but more controlled and ends up winning the the race and with less wear and tear on components. Which is faster the tortoise or the snail.

Me too . A small cup of white spirits into 5l of oil .
I used it a lot till they put the oil prices up
