What should I do with this bike?

Post by Jamoi »

Image

This was given to me by a friend who has run out of places to hide bikes from his missus.

It's a ZZR600, has a V5, obviously been "ratted" so would require some work to become a track bike.

It's pretty quick though with 100bhp, the motor really screams through the full laser exhaust.

What to do with it though...

I rode my mates zzr600 last year, very comfy bike, with a strong engine, i'd just stick some good tyres on and track it until it dies....

He's given it to you to do as you like correct ?

Stick it on Gumtree £500 some muppet will buy it, if just for spares.

Be willing to take an offer as low as £300.

Or burn it as Virt said...

Almost sounds like it's worth purchasing as a track bike at £300

I like that idea a lot Wicky.

Thanks for your suggestions... so the general consensus is Burn it? My mate will pi55 himself when I tell him.

I was thinking along the same lines as you Lloydie, but it's kinda growing on me (like a scab), so I'm tempted to store it, then next year I'll have a cheap track bike project.

I could graft some cheap ass race fairings on, clipons, supercorsas and just learn how to ride properly on the track :D

Hmm... or knobbly tyres and go green laning again...

Depends if it floats your boat or not. If it does mothball it and it's there for your track outings when you get back from NZ. Personally I would out it to raise more funds for your trip. Good luck whatever you decide

To make it track ready would cost a lot more than it's worth and a damn sight more than a box of matches or disposable lighter. they were a soft and soggy bike when new, do you really want to be buying a shock, fork springs, rearsets, etc etc... you can't polish a turd

Whack it on ebay someone will see some value in it.
