I really enjoyed last evenings program

I like the 40D shorts one on the Spitfire engine, ace 8) The bit about Guy over revving the engine in the workshop, then it got away, mad

last nights show was good, really showed the determination and competitive sprit of Guy. he is not just a wild risk taker, he will physically and mentally drive himself to any lengths to win.

he also was pretty motivational to get as much out of his team mate, you cant not like the bloke :D

He was building that Martek (i think?) Gixxer with about 500 bhp for a long while, the Tv show focused him on finishing it.

Hmmm. Having watched the Tandem record programme last night, I dunno if they should have got the record.

I mean, ok, they were in a trike set up (no rules that a tandem must have 2 wheels). But, the riders were almost side by side, so legally for the record, and technically, they were riding a "Sociable", NOT a tandem. Or, a Sociable Recumbent to give it the proper term - totally different to a tandem.

A tandem arrangement for a bike is specifically aimed at the riders seated one directly behind another). It's not the wheel set up as most people think. The good news is, there are no rules to state that you cannot have a canopy or any aerodynamics attached - so Guys set up was good to go on that front.

But, to have Guy and his mate almost side by side, to me, does not conform! Ok, Guy was slightly offset behind for the sake of his elbows, but he wasn't actually behind his mate to get away with the "tandem" tag.

I bet the American record holders are fuming at this, as Guy and mate did not do actual road conditions with hills and hazards - but instead completed smooth circuits on a track, where there are no stresses on the drive chain, cos there are no hills.

I dunno. I want a re-run! This time, with them doing it on an actual road, one behind the other.

---------

Next weeks Pikes Peak will be good, as I read the Motorcycle News spread/photo shoot they did a couple of Months ago, and Guys lucky he's still here!
If it ain't broken...f*ck about with it until it is.
