As promised, here’s the update about Martins picnic bench.
First off I’ve spoke to the manager at the camp site in Rhayder and he’s more than happy for us to place a picnic bench down on the site.
I’ve also spoke to a guy in Wales and he can make a 6 seater picnic bench out of oak for £350, this a link to him :-

http://www.dinefwr.co.uk/outdoor_seating.php

I asked him if he could carve/route Martins logo + dates as per sticker into it and he told me to send a picture and he’ll do it but it will be a bit extra, he’s about 50 miles from Rhayder so some delivery cost will also be added.
I’m going to send him the details and he’ll give me a price complete with delivery.
 I asked about the logo being put into the table simply because I personally think that this is more fitting for Martin rather than a morbid brass plaque, what do you guys think :?:
What I’m going to do now is wait till the end of this week to see how much interest as been generated, hopefully I’ll have the final price by then, so the only thing I can do is count up all those that have posted up in favour, then divide the cost by the numbers this will then give us an idea how much each we need to donate, is this ok with everyone :?:
Just to give you all an idea 23 members have shown an interest up to date.
Finally at the end of this week I’ll PM all interested members with my email address and my home address plus phone nbr so you can donate either by Paypal or by check, I don’t really want to put that information on the open forum, once again is this ok with everyone :?:
If anyone wants to donate but remain anonymous please PM me and I’ll send you my details
If anyone out there can find someone cheaper, more convenient, can make one or can help in any way then please post up and let me know.

Also can the person who is doing the stickers please send me a picture of Martins logo then I can pass it on to the bench maker, again PM me and I’ll send you my details.
Come guys please give me some feedback

Kev, spot on matey. Getting it carved into the bench is genius

The logo is a much better alternative to words imo.

Kev sounds perfect ,I'm a joiner ,and can tell you that 350 quid for an oak 6 seater bench is a pretty good price, should deliver fo that maybe but extra for routing is fair enough takes a while to do ,send me pm for cash when you get price, nice one mate I reckon it would make Martin smile seeing us all sat on it talking baldrocks.ady f.

That all sounds good to me too. A carving is a lot smarter than a Brass plaque. Have you though about where to have the carving on the bench. PM me whenever your ready Kev.
