Now back to what's annoyed me

Sodding computers updating causing my preferred browser "Opera" to work very slow. I have nothing against updates providing they don't cause issues with the general running of things, after all you have to keep up with all the threats about. The problem is I'm not sure if it's Windows update or the browser updates, and I'm not prepared to un-install either or both to find out, causing me to waste valuable time like I usually do

Right I feel better now :D

Chris.
a few years ago I bought a Lenovo touchscreen laptop, within 6 months windows 10 came out, so I updated, only to find out that the touchscreen function isn't compatible with windows 10 ffs.
scroll forward to 2 weeks ago and numerous updates haven't made a difference, one of the main reasons I bought this laptop was the touch screen function, then out of the blue after the update a few weeks ago it starts working again.
btw I will never buy another Lenovo, utter dog shite, both speakers broken, loads of trim has fallen off. it randomly does things that you haven't asked it to do. i'm about to buy my 3rd charger cable, as they keep breaking the list is endless.
but at least I have the touchscreen back......
I feel your pain Marty :)
Microsoft have just added a fix all (okay probably not all) update package, that probably be why your touch screen has started working,

Family ? Whats that ?
More likely your hospital is on black alert, no empty beds available.
VTRDark wrote:Why not just stick to security updates only. The rest don't matter so much unless your looking to be pushed forward and have to purchase a newer machine sooner. The problem with keeping up with the latest updates is that you will either have things break because the latest updates are designed for the latest software and devices and / or you may have to wait for third parties to catch up. I'm using Firefox ESR these days as my everyday general use browser.

PetyaWrap is the latest attack on you windows users and it's worse than ransomware as it simply destroys your data.

But Kudos to Microsoft they where quick on the ball this time.

Thanks Carl for the links
A good point about only installing the security updates only, although the last Microsoft update has loads of fix-all updates bundled into one.

I have got Firefox installed and have been using that, but if I'm being honest I just don't gel with it. I'm not 100% sure what it is, probably too many years using Opera

I would say it's more to do with how the under-tray has been fitted than the product itself. It looks like it's not been secured in place very well.
Looking on the bright side, at least you now have more storage space

lol at the storage space!...Do you have one of these undertrays? Just 2 screws secure it to the rear and 2 self tappers straight into the undertray directly underneath...Unless im missing something?

Not man enough for the job long term, ive seen a few sitting on the rear tyre over the years...
