Got Nue Red & Custard Crumble out of the MacCave, on stands, got bucket & sponge, wash stuff, water...

Pulls hose round to give 'em both a spay up...Fabric cover on hose gives up hose balloons up through the rip...Before I can turn the water off to release presure...BANG...!! Splosh...Hose pops, Mac get a drenching...

Reminder to self do not buy replacment cheap self stretching type hose off e-bay for £9.99...Oh well it lasted about a year...

So I'm digging me old industrial strengh yellow hose out of Franks Gaff & I hear a coughing & spluttering, backfiring & stalling noise from out front...

Mr Vanstub has just arrived...Mostly peeved...he's come all the way over no problems turned into road with the co-op...& the bike has started fecking about ...

Head stratching ensues...1st thing check the plugs, we'll swap them over & see if thats the issue....

3 of the air box lid screws are missing...easy fix new screws...no thread is ferked...no worries we'll use some bolts instead, bit of a faff but jobs a good un...

I'm still not sure that would be the issue so we got this far check the plugs...Steves on plug duty, rear one is loose ! discribed as not even hand tight... Check the spark thats ok, check the front one, spark ok & tight...Both plugs back in, fire it up, its fine...

It's suprising how long they will run with no fuel tank on...

Anyhoo whilst we are mucking around the postie turns up with a package...

Steves bike back together, hose issue sorted, Nue & Crumble de-fly'd/washed, tea break & a smoke.

Steve shot off disapointed that the package that came wasn't the new chain & sprocket set I'd ordered for him...another job for another day...

So I set to installing...







Dead easy to fit, cut the threaded bar to length & bolt up, I have Bennys old Harris padock stand for the use of & when the bike is on the stand it's much more stable than when using the normal padock stand...

Only issue is that they will have to come off if the wheels coming out as the bar fits through the hollow spindle...well thats where the Abba stand comes in then...

Yes I do like the Abba stand but they are much more of a faff than a padock stand if you just want to do the chain...

tyres/chain/oil/coolant/brakes/lights all sorted. top box packed and fitted (includes a cheeky 2ltrs of petrol just in case..... )
fitted the baglux tank harness and packed the tank bag. just need to pop that on in the morning and i'm good to go.
all this for the 20th anniversary meet

Not done to the bike but bought a pair of paddock stands today, the front is a headstock stand and it looks like it'll clear most fairings unlike their cheaper version, it has adjustable height too. It's a pair deal with a rear stand, the one I bought has hooks but scroll through their paddock stand page and they do the same combo with a cup type rear stand.

£61.99 including delivery is pretty much the rear stand for free.

Replaced oil cooler pipes. After a couple of squeaky bumb moments at the weekend, closer inspection revealed pin hole spraying a mist of oil which was ending up on the rear tyre.

They just get too hot.
I wanted to enjoy it but it's easier on the train.

Picked it up and rode it 100 miles home, would have been a much more enjoyable if half the bloody M6 wasn't 40/50mph roadworks!
