Scotland 2020 31st July till 2nd August

Post by AMCQ46 »

OK lads & lassies ... who wants another OP Storm Scotland meeting in 2020?

Post Covid lockdown updates in BOLD at the bottom

Image

date decided [but still need to confirm with bunkhouse]

Friday 31st July till Sunday 2nd August [note that Monday 3rd is a bank holiday in Scotland, so there is usually some good events in the towns for non motorcycling partners to get involved in] Kirkcudbright Arts and Crafts

also feedback on the bunkhouse accomadation - is it meeting expectation [well breakfast this year was a farce as it took more than an hour to serve everybody, so that has to be sorted], but is it too basic?
we can go back to a town and mix campsite and others have to option to sort out a B&B.

list so far:
Gabi - bunkhouse - not paid
MarkVTR - confirmed van
Tony.Mon - chalet = paid 3 nights
Rolling Thunder - 1 day trip?
Flatline - chalet
Kermitlefrog - bunkhouse - paid
Edward - bunkhouse = paid
Wellgroomed Andy - bunkhouse = paid
AMcQ46 - bunkhouse - paid
PeteL-bunkhouse = paid
GrumpyFrog-bunkhouse - paid
Bazza - bunkhouse
Husky James = bunkhouse paid
Budd - Van or Bunkhouse TBD - not paid

any other of the NI team?

initial booking for 10 places now done = £19/night + £5 for bedding and towel = £43

so the corona virus update in BOLD:

Gabi - bunkhouse - not paid
MarkVTR - confirmed van
Tony.Mon - chalet = paid 3 nights - Still coming
Rolling Thunder - 1 day trip?
Flatline - chalet sorted it himself - still coming
Kermitlefrog - bunkhouse - paid [only maybe now, and will camp]
Edward - bunkhouse = paid [dropping out]
Wellgroomed Andy - bunkhouse = paid - maybe but will camp
AMcQ46 - bunkhouse - paid - Will stay in Camper Van
PeteL-bunkhouse = paid - still coming and happy to bunkhouse
GrumpyFrog-bunkhouse - paid still coming and happy to bunkhouse
Bazza - bunkhouse
Husky James = bunkhouse paid still coming and happy to bunkhouse
Budd - Van or Bunkhouse TBD - not paid

so of the 10 spaces booked in bunkhouse.
3 happy to bunk [james, Pete, Grumpy]
1 convert to camper Van pitch [AMcQ46]
2 are maybe but will convert to tent pitchs [Wellgroomed and Kermt]
1 dropped out [Edward]
3 no reply [Gabi, Baazza, Budd]
1 gate crasher [Fabio]

I'm up for this. Either date is fine for me.

When you fix a date I'll advise the other gentlemen.

Add me to the list again Ali :D
All those dates are good for me at the moment but if it's a Bank hol on the first weekend would make the roads a bit busy?

Pete, we used to always do the trip on that bank holiday weekend when we were staying in kirkcudbright, I only moved it to get a gap between the NI trip and the Scotland one. I can't remember there being more traffic away from the towns, but it did make biking a table for supper more of a problem.

I'll be there. Has the date been decided?

You're spot on, Alistair, the accommodation is very basic, but it's ok for sleeping

I have frozen the planned date and you should all put the weekend of 31st July till 2nd Aug in you busy calendars.

still need to confirm with bunkhouse, but if they are busy we will go back to campsite

Go on then.
I was planning to ride some of it, but I can bring it up in the van.
