As I'm having a year off of forum meets, here are the rules for the Welsh balls are wood challenge:

1.
You must assemble the flying device prior to launching it at the site. Nothing pre-assembled and brought in a van or delivered by your rich dad in a Harrods van .. .

2.
You are permitted one launch only.

3.
When ready, and in position, you have a maximum of one minute to launch. No waiting for ages for the wind to stop blowing etc.

4.
Rubber band powered planes must be launched from the surface of the Benny bench under their own power.
Non-powered gliders can be thrown by the owner, standing on top of the Benny bench.

5.
Power is restricted to a single rubber band.
No multiple rubber bands or any other power source are allowed, such as petrol, impulse or solid fuel jet or battery.

6.
The aircraft must have a name written on it, the sillier the better.

7.
All entries must consist of at least 90% balsa.
No cheap polystyrene or dope and fabric covered constructions.

8.
No other forms of lift or propulsion are permitted.

9.
The flight length is measured in paces only, from the bench to the final resting places in a direct line.
The Winner shall be the craft acheiving the furthest distance from the bench.

10.
The copious use of alcohol is permitted, as is heckling and pi55taking.
Physical interference is not permitted on either the craft of the owner/launcher.

11.
The winner is to nominate the competition for next year before the end of the weekend.

I think that'll do it, if anyone has any questions I will happily refine or define the rules on all but matters of taste.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
