OP storm SW Scotland Mk4, July 29th to 31st 2016

Post by AMCQ46 »

Place holder for next year to get it booked in your diaries. --------- note the date change, now 1 week earlier

Plenty of time to sort out babysitters now Ziggy, and lots of time to make sure all the drive chains are well maintained :)

Same location - Kirkcudbright in Dumfries & Galloway

Same format - meet up at various locations on the way up on Friday, the good roads start from Settle, so get there if you can. Out for a pub meal and on the piss Friday night, big breckie at cafe in the morning and out onto the best biking roads for all of Saturday. More food and drink etc.

Perhaps we can consider an extra day so we do a ride Sunday as well and all go home Monday.?

Look at the details from last 3 years rides for more info, and all are welcome so bring a mate / brother / son / wife.

Campsite or local b&bs are great

Confirmed
AMCQ46 - Heading up from Worcester area Friday and collecting the lads as I go, going home Monday.
Mrs AMCQ46, going up in the car and not coming out on the bike, but will join for the eating & drinking and falling over.
Ziggy - meeting in Settle Friday, going home on his own Sunday
adyF - Meeting in Settle Friday, going home Monday
PeteL - My house Thursday night, going home Monday
Kermit lefrog - Meeting at campsite Friday, going home ??
Grumpy Stuart - Meeting Morrisons in Dumfries Friday, going home Monday
Fabio , Stevie & KTM new boy - Meeting at campsite Friday, going home ??
countrymick - Meeting at campsite Friday, going home ??
flatty - meeting Settle Friday. going home Sunday
CheekyKev [plus Sue & Ads] - meeting ??? going home ??

pending
macdee - playing it by ear and might turn up last min due to the fact that neither he nor his wife can walk! :(

Il look into this run 2 (once I've sorted cut-out issues) since its the Scotland run :p
plus it woukd b good to meet some of u guys.
I must say tho if you think the south of Scotland has great roads you should look into where I am from (loch lomond) 20 miles north of Glasgow, it's nicknamed the gateway to the Highlands and has amazing roads no matter which direction you pick...

Infact fast bikes magazine did top 10 Scottish roads last year in an issue and most of the routes mentioned are not far away from here atall.

The Mrs might tag along she loves weekends away on the storm. But I might bring a riding buddy for the run down. I have an awful feeling that this run collides with bsb at Knockhill tho :/ numbers will dwindle if that is the case.
