Does anyone need anything?

Post by Virt »

I've currently been assigned nothing all week at work so far, so I've just been testing installs, documenting bugs, dying of boredom.. etc..

I haven't really done any big software projects of my own in like a year, and I can't think of anything to do. Is there any sort of system anyone here needs or wants? I need something to do to stop me going crazy, and because over the past year I've learnt like 8 languages and my main language has changed completely I feel like testing myself and seeing what can be improved on...

If not, I'll just find an app and re-create it or something. I have no imagination  Wanna create the game that I've had in my head for a while, for mobile devices, but I can't find a graphic designer

A cricket scorecard entry, fixtures and averages database component and modules for Joomla 1.5/2.5 - similar to sportstatz system http://www.sportstatz.com/ss/details.aspx

Reckon you could charge for £50+ for a club (max of 4 teams) version, and £200+ for a (unlimited teams) league version.

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

Understood all of that up to Joomla.

Joomla uses MySQLi or MySQL.

Oh okay, I was gonna google it in a few minutes. I assumed it was some sort of Cricket standards or something.. Sounds fair enough, I have a copy of Microsoft SQL Server 2014 on my laptop at home so that would be easier to use as the LINQ would function correctly with the VS 2013/.NET 4.5 as they're both microsoft products...

On the other hand this is microsoft and they've never exactly followed logic beforehand, so why would they start now?

Sounds interesting though. Just a shame I know nout about cricket, and it would be best provided as SaaS which is another field I'm not all too familiar with.. Wonder if ASP.NET would allow it

I'll download it when I get home on my personal laptop and have a looksie, just reading through documentation now. Not sticking it on my work laptop as it could cause trouble..

You could sort Paypal out for me Virt. I keep getting a javascript error pop up after logging in. I click OK in the pop up and it reapers. This is a continuous cycle and to get out of it and log into my account I have to go back to the index page by clicking Paypal in the bookmarks again. It then goes straight to my account. It's very frustrating. I must try loggin in with another browser to see if it's a Firfox or extension issue or not.

Sounds like an error with an extension, what extensions are you running? I use firefox on the macbook and I get no javascript errors...
