Edit window mess

Post by VTRDark » Thu Jun 27, 2019 9:16 pm

Something has changed in the last week or so. Has there been a forum update or something as my edit window now looks like the following....

Image
as I manually type my tags to post an image.

This is in FF 52.9.0 ESR NoScript is not blocking anything and I haven't installed any new add-ons.. I have not modified any of my privacy and security settings in my user.js for about:config so something has changed this end. And yes that is adguard in the corner next to the add image to post which is new. This mess appeared at the same time that appeared which is why I think there has been an update which has broken things.

If you could delete the mess left by our doves from the conservatory roof light I'd be grateful....
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Because your on a later browser. No way am I updating anything and then being pushed into updating hardware. That's what drives capitalism. Force people into buying more useless stuff so the old can end up on the landfill and companies can get rich. Update software which requires new hardware, then update more software and not only do things get less secure but devices start to get sluggish over time so then one is pushed into buying new hardware with more powerful processors, ram etc to cope with it, install new software and around we go again.

It's a constant technological cycle designed to con us out of more money and data. The problem is a lack of backwards compatibility and the web and a lot of sites help to drive things forward only we are not going forwards we are mentally going backwards by being sucked into all the rubbish. The only thing going forwards is your money and data into company coffers. If everyone stopped buying new hardware and installing new software things would remain a constant and there would be no problems. And all the time this is happening we have media scare tactics about vulnerabilities and threats and reasons why we should update. It's the constant updating that is causing the vulnerabilities which they then fix by creating new software and hardware only for new vulnerabilities to be found. It's a similar tactic that is used to create wars which is another economy driver. Create a problem then convince and manipulate everyone into believing we have to go in and fix the problem.

Nah I'm at the point now where once I can't access anything because my tech is way behind I'm divorcing tech, well...that's what I would like to do only it's so embedded into society as the worlds money maker, spy and mind control device that it makes it very difficult if not imposable to live in this society without it. Even official gov necessities, forms of communication and employment are all web based now. I might just end up having to divorce society and become a vagabond or live in a different prison, one that is paid for rather than me paying for. Of course the tech benefits the worlds governments too even though they don't understand it and are being driven by the companies selling stuff which not only earns them tax but allows them to ride of the back of it and track, monitor and control us all. The Stasi would be proud of the tech we have today and out of respect for those that died in the wars trying to keep our freedom we should all resist what's going on now. They would be turning in their graves if they could see today's world. I guess the carrots dangled on the string are too large and the brainwashing is embedded into society too deeply as intelligence levels drop more and more and more generations grow up with an already decreasing level of intelligence. I shall get back to watching more love Island now

As for Tony's doves you could probably buy a robot to clean that up. Maybe even a cleaner drone, Then again a broom and hose pipe will do the job but that might be considered a health and safety risk so you have to buy the robot.

"No way am I updating anything and then being pushed into updating hardware."

I bought my Late '09 Mac Pro secondhand wayback in 2014 www.create.pro which runs free MacOSX Mojave OS and free Firefox etc.

Yes things have moved on a bit over the past couple of decades

I don't want mojave, I'm still on good old Yose. I'm locked down and take care of my own security and don't need commercialised rubbish forced upon me which then pushes having to spend money on other new stuff. Apple are not allowed through my front door and I only allow in who I want in. Yep things are moving on one step forwards two steps backwards. If we truly want to move forwards then we need to step backwards all the way back and take another junction as this one is on the road to hell and our pockets.

Well as if by magic it has fixed itself. Not sure what was going on there. Maybe a connection bottleneck.

Pen and paper?
Switch to paper

Just last week, it was reported that another Florida municipality had paid $600,000 in Bitcoin to hackers following a similar ransomware attack.
The computer infection in Riviera Beach, a suburb of Palm Beach, affected email as well as emergency response systems and forced staff to switch to using paper for some tasks.

Ransomware attacks have become an increasingly common tool for cyber-criminals. Municipal staff in one Alaskan community reverted to using typewriters after their computers were hit by ransomware last year.
Second US town pays up to ransomware hackers

How a ransomware attack cost one firm £45m - 'The entire workforce - 35,000 people - had to resort to pen and paper.'

Exactly....I wonder if they remembered how to use a pen and paper  I read about those ransomware attacks the other day. It doesn't help that they pay up. One company recently refused to on principle and it ended up costing them more than the ransom. But even us little people have that threat to worry about as well as all other illegal and legal nasties out to get us. Just wait...the NHS will get hit again. It's only a matter of time. NASA was hacked the other day too.

The good thing about Pen and Paper, it made it much harder to sell on personal information :eh:
