Re: Project Varatrackerstorm or Firetrackerdero.

Good to hear you're still drifting along. Most specials go this way, they big bits go fastest, then the little fiddly bits take weeks with no visible progress. But you'll get there. Coming to Devon on it? So true Tony, it's so demoralising. I know what I want the project to look like & it would...

Re: Project Varatrackerstorm or Firetrackerdero.

Hi guys, not really much to update on the build tbh. I've mostly been completing little jobses that are time consuming but needed sorting before I felt I could move forward. Also the cameras knackered, no amount of bashing on the bench fixed it either pfff.. First job was that the Weber dcoe 6mm tru...

Re: Project Varatrackerstorm or Firetrackerdero.

Hi Chris, sorry for not replying sooner but Tony has stepped in & answered. Thanks Tony  Right then, It's taken a while but I've eventually bought a SV650 radiator. They were £69.99 each & I was not going to pay that, I offered £40 & ended up buying one for £47. I was made up, b...

Apparently many auto cct fail after a long stand making this engine a high risk candidate. Now I know that it's alive I needed some of these & they arrived the other day. https://www.xrv.org.uk/forums/attachments/varadero/137967d1562764920-bored-your-varadero-enter-project-varatrackerstorm-firet...

Re: Project Varaturnipstorm or Fireturnipdero.

Re: Project Varatrackerstorm or Firetrackerdero.

Cheers guys  I knew something would halt progress, I just didn't think it was a fiddler loom  eBay I suppose, some you win some you loose. Btw, well done on you two sorting your bikes out. Duffy's looking really tidy & thank god fabio took my advice & replaced the spark plugs ...

Re: Streetfighter, cafe racer thingy!!!

I like what you've done with the radiator, thats my next step with the varatrackerdero project  Atm I'm running a right side Storm rad, but the metal looks a wee bith thin to remove & weld up one of the water tubes.I think soldering's an option but your idea is an even better option. I'...

Re: Streetfighter, cafe racer thingy!!!

Just to clarify......The radiator isnt from any particular bike. Just a multi purpose aftermarket one. Hello, I like that  Radiator wise, I spent about an hour last night searching & I think I found it :D It looks as if it's an upgraded SV650 (K5 or later) item  Not sure what ...

Re: Project Varatrackerstorm or Firetrackerdero.

I had another think & decided to study the loom on the bike & search for repairs or signs of fiddling that might be the cause. At the 9 & 6 pin plugs (clock connections) loom side there was signs of new black tape so Undid it :eek2 An issue was instantly spotted. All the wires had been c...

Re: Project Varatrackerstorm or Firetrackerdero.

The thermostat arrived this morning & I was hoping the swinging temp needle would be stopped. Nope, still the same. So it might be the clock or loom.

Next attack is the oil cooler & rad. Then strip it down & weld up the various brackets then fit another loom.

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today

Attempted to get to the bottom of my temp gauge swinging over to the "H" when the ignition is switched on :( Anyone any ideas? Checked Carl's idea that there was a sender change during the model run but when I cross referenced the temp sender numbers it only shows one type. If anyone coul...
