Re: WORKSHOP DAY.

I also have a compression testing guage, Tony, what time does the kettle first boil? Got one of those boil-when-you-need-it kettles by Tefal, so ready when you are. Any time from 9 onwards. SWMBO is a serial tea-drinker, so bought her one of these- now she's never more than four seconds away from a...

J-Lo names....

So I was having a laugh with the kids and their friends earlier working out what their names would be, J-Lo stylie.
I'd be T-Mo, not too bad.
One of my daughter's friends would be H-Bru.(sounds like a good drinkinge name, that one!)

What's yours?

Re: Storm/SP1/SP2 end cans

End cans probably will, but the link pipes definitely won't.
And original exhausts don't fit either.
But they're bloody heavy, same as the originals, so not much point unless your standard ones are truly buggered.

Re: New tyres - what a difference

Tyres, such an emotive subject and people will never agree on whats best. Theres not really a bad tyre on the market nowdays. You either choose between mileage or hoonage! Couldn't agree more. The trouble is; you usually compare a knackered old set with brand new ones- new ones will always feel gre...

Re: 100w White H4 Lamp fitting

Nice job, well done. I see people buying the relay kits and wonder why they're so expensive? Parts aren't much to source. The only comment I'd make is that I'd have ran a separate fused power lead from the battery terminal to the relay for the permanent live power side. Reason is that the way you ha...

Re: Slow speed heavy steering

I wouldn't worry about a torque setting for the top nut, because the tension is set by the two locking rings under the top yoke. It's those you will need to adjust if the bearings are tight or loose or notchy. They have a tabbed washer between them so that they don't loosen in normal riding, but I f...

Re: Help CCT Falure????????? Advice needed

I've dropped one down the front tunnel; luckily it lodged between the chain and lower sprocket, so magnet on a flex shaft fished it out. If not, you'll have to take off the alternator cover; chances are it'll be magnetically stuck to the alternator rotor. Unlikely to drop further down due to powerfu...

Re: Bit Concerned ?

Hold on, there :eek2 :eek2 Losing less than a litre isn't going to cause main or big end failure, unless you ran it under load and high revs for quite a while, and if the oil pressure dropped far enough to allow accelerated wear the light would come on. You need to test is whether the low oil pressu...

TT 2010 on the telly

I had to look hard for the tv coverage, finally found it on ITV4 starting Thursday at 9PM, then every night at 9.
There's a John McGuinness interview before the Thursday program might be worth a watch.

Haven't looked on regional channels, usually Irish tv cover it.
