They don't have cam chain tensioners or Regulator/Rectifier units so there is two plus points in their favour already.

In my experience, if the front brake pads get more than 50% and you are running standard Honda front brake disks then they can warp leading to vibration through the bars at certain speeds.

I've been using H4 LED bulbs on my V-Strom 650 for a couple of years and found them a big improvement over standard halogen bulbs. Two MOT's passed with no issues.

The VTR will be a lot more relaxed a ride compared to your previous Aprilias (I've had two Falco's in the past). The one thing you wont have to worry about with the VTR is the Ethanol content in moderl fuel swelling the plastic tank unlike the Aprilias.
