Home again
Got back from a 3000 mile Eurotrip the other day. Germany first, bit of sight seeing and a lap of the Nurburgring then spent a few days heading toward the Sachsenring GP, managed to get a decent spot and saw Cal's overtake for 2nd place :thumb: Then it was down through Germany and across Austria, in...

Re: Stormyrob
Bought some ASV levers off Rob, all as described and he went out of his way to get them dispatched ASAP.
Cheers Rob! I cleaned up that spring and they look great on the bike

Re: waterproof gloves: recomendations
I have Richa Arctic's http://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/69186 They're very warm and waterproof, the lining is a bit fleecy so if you take them off then get your hands wet they can be a faff to put back on, but not too bad. My only issue is my right thumb seems to ache aft...

Re: Whats cheered you up today...?
Set off from home and the bike is bogging down, has no power, then cuts out 200m down the road.
Forgot to re-attach the fuel hose to the tank
Luckily I have an 8mm spanner on a multi-tool under the seat so just lifted the tank and plugged it back in!

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
New oil and filter and re-fitted PAIRS. A quick blast before to warm the oil, and a second one after to see if things have improved. It seems to be running smoother and sounding healthier again with PAIRS fitted so I'm happy. Metzeler M7RR's are brilliant by the way. Confidence inspiring, get really...

Re: Intercoms.
Are you handy with wiring? I've just upgraded to a bluetooth system and have a Starcom wired intercom system available. The headset wiring for the rider could do with being fixed (or replaced) as my last repair job hasn't really worked. Because of the forward riding position and where the wire comes...

Re: Going under...
Had both mine done when I was about 14/15. Had to go to school in sandals for ages with these giant toe bandages sticking out. They do go a bit gooey for a while but now it's all just hard skin. They were a nightmare before the op, constantly giving sharp pain and having to, umm... 'drain' them ever...

Not being able to ride because of a single bolt, and having to wait for said bolt to arrive because I can't buy one locally.
Frustrating.

Re: wheelies.. why do i go left or wobble?
if your lofting them as high as that profile pic whilst sat down, it could just be a wobble... I guess from bumps etc. trying to compress the shock but everything being at the 'wrong' angle. Rather than having a nice pivot point to act against, the whole bike will be moving up and down a bit more, t...

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
I changed my tyres at the weekend. A set of decent levers was the same cost as a tyre change so they're all free from now on. Getting them off the bead with only the levers took some trying, but all done and balanced now! I then snapped a brake disc bolt so couldn't go out and enjoy the sun :( Bolt ...

Re: Ebay Finds (unusal/cheap/rare/or just good value)
never seen a rentec rack like this before, looks good, but buyer beware it hasn't got the important mounting bracket, without it you will destroy your rear fairing the moment you put weight on it... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RENNTEC-TOURING-REAR-PILLION-GRAB-RAIL-HONDA-VTR1000-VTR-1000-F-FIRESTORM-...

Re: Nitron shock, belly pan, hugger
it says this 0700X225x0950. guessing 225 is length of spring but not sure which is the stiffness though Not to worry dude, I'm trying to find out from Nitron if it's suitable for my weight. According to a spring weight calculator for the VTR I need something around an 1150lb/in spring. I'm assuming...

That's good to know. I'm just checking on the spring but I'm interested.StuartWags wrote:about 30mm on the seat height i hear but not checkedAMCQ46 wrote:the nitron shock is adjustable from length with the locknut on the bottom.
Stuart, did you buy it new and set for your weight?
