Difficult to say what the click is - have you a recording of it? If the MCCT is too tight it'll squeal - and if too loose it'll rattle even after warmed up - so likely nothing untoward. Important thing it that the lock nut is done up, and you've put something on the threads to help stop them unwindi...

Doesn't sound like the bike's R/R as that does the charging from when the bike is running taking the generator output. I'd look at the charger and the length of time trickling which like a bath with a tap dripping has over time overflowed... "While both are typically 12 volt batteries, a motorc...
