Re: Ignition control unit

Well, they have a contact address:
https://ignitech.cz/en/kontakt

Though I have to admit that support quality is not constant. In some cases they were helpful, in others they stopped answering when it got too deep into technical things.
They certainly prefer selling over support, that's for sure.

Re: Ignition control unit

I had a VTR for repair in my garage that definitely had a faulty RR. He blew quite some things like a couple of bulbs. The ICU was also on that list. Exchanging it with mine made it work again. Next to a used one, you could also fit a completely new & programmable box from Ignitech (use the sear...

Yeah, in the afternoon 30 km on the MTB plus an evening with a nice BBQ with family and friends.
My daughter turned 18 as we both share our birthday. I guess she enjoyed most her first ride with the family car

Re: Compression test.

Yeah, the absolute reading is not to be trusted unless you have an expensive calibrated kit. I had ordered a new kit from China for my Pitbike as the old gauge didn't have an adapter for the small 10mm plugs. Funnily the reading was unexpectedly low. Then I hooked the new gauge to my RD where I coul...

Re: Compression test.

If you've put in too much oil in the front cylinder and you haven't cleaned that out by letting the engine spin without a plug installed, then there's a good chance you damaged something. Why? Imagine the cylinder volume has to be compressed to what's left above the piston in TDC (combustion chamber...

Re: K&N Air filter - Jetting issue - stuttering at constant throttle

From your symptoms, it sounds like it's a bit lean in the low / part throttle range. This is influenced by the needles (which are different for the K&N Kit), the idle jet and the idle "air" screw which actually doses fuel (so it acts in opposite direction to an air screw) A damaged sli...

Re: Front sprocket 17T - any experience with it?

Which fingers are getting numb? Basically there's two nerves in charge. One for the thumb, index finger and middle finger. The other for the ring finger and little finger. The nerve for the first three is often numbed by a too high angle of the hand vs lower arm. That's usually caused by a too high ...

Re: Ulez

This whole ULEZ stuff is a joke: Would you consider a 1985 RD350 twostroke as a low emission vehicle? Well, it's ULEZ compliant : https://www.bikerandbike.co.uk/1985-motorbike-gets-ulez-exemption-with-a-nox-test/ Why that? Because the current focus is not on really toxic Carbonmonixide or cancerous ...

Re: Gearing and speedo

Shorter transmission ratio will also count more miles than actually done. Good if you calculate mpg and don't remember, bad if you want to sell it later... The answer is buying a speedo healer. That's a box that accepts a rectangular input at frequency 1 and puts out another rectangular signal, but ...

Re: Riding help...leaning

When I was young and too poor for a race track, we used Autobahn crossings for training right hand knee sliding. Note: That mentioned crossing hat pretty fresh tarmac and meanwhile one or two ears have lost a bit of grip. Don't know, if you have those butterfly layouts in Scotland. Roundabouts would...

Re: Riding help...leaning

That reads like someone is overthinking something. First and most importantly: Lean angles are a matter of training. They do not come automatically and they do get less if you pause for long (like winter) Finding out the limit on public roads is kind of a bad idea. Yes, it's absolutely possible but ...

Re: Rev counter is not working. Need to know the cause

I've read people reporting blown tachs, bulbs and CDI's after reg/rec failures due to the occurring higher voltage.
Most stuff can only bear some 18V.

Maybe it's worth a try to measure charging voltage on your battery first.

Re: BSMC Tobacco Dock 2022

The twostroke world is small.
I happen to have met Jason Hills, the owner & builder of the LC in the 2 lower pics.
On that occasion I've even test ridden that bike which was an arm-ripping experience as it has around the same performance than a VTR, but at almost half the bike weight.
