Excellent, thanks wicky. Started using a small drift bar, but I was worried about knocking the bearings and stopped as it was not large enough.

Did you adjust the gear selector and arm to be sitting higher?, just when I was running up and down my road, that it's sitting to...

Re: running rough
Have you taken the carbs off?, if you did re-check that all the connections are seated correctly and screw clips are tight on the carb inlets, eg the rubber inlets to the cylinder head from the carbs, maybe they are perished from sitting a long time and leaking to allow more air in.

Re: Standard Alarm Fault
Yes try wd40 and jiggle key around, but don't force it. Maybe some debris is stopping it. As for alarm, if it's been fitted in 1997, I would think along the lines of all the owners that it's been chopped and altered or disconnected due to draining the battery etc. I would even consider removing it a...

Thanks for the info Chris, will investigate this, but first maybe a set from a vfr800 may woRk, since the bars are higher, and would imagine the set up being the same bike to bike. Will look into this also over the summer and repoRt back.

Check the main earth to the engine, clean it up and if any contact grease use a dab. Same with main cable to starter.

Re: A few changes
tried my spare cables from the cb750, and nope it won't work, perfect length but the cable itself is not long enough. It's just too tight when hooking up to the throttle spindle, and hooking up the adjusters. put the originals back on and made some adjustments, wI'll do until winter when I can get a...

Re: A few changes
I will recheck them again today, but yes Chris, I did them as normal so maybe to tight at the housing and need more slack for turning right. Will try with longer cables also, if I can find them
