Re: Little bit more progress....

Thought I'd got the screws to finish top fairing, but apparently not. Fowlers website says I need 4 of a particular screw for inner ducts and panels. I was sure from fiche I needed 6. Turns out I needed 10! So fiche is wrong! Also didn't realise I didn't have the 4 headlight bolts. So got a few othe...

Re: new bike for this yr

I have put an akra end can on the 1190 Adventure, but it is the official KTM one and its baffles are spotwelded in to make sure emissions are still complied with! if I decide it is too quiet I have found the youtube video on the best way to debaffle it :D I've got a 1290SAS and I got a local exhaus...

Re: R/H intake panel

That was my other option. Wasn't going to bother with the other infill panels either, but got one for £12, so happy with that!

Meant to ask if anyone didn't bother with them. Used to have a VFR800 for years that didn't need intake scoops for the side mounted radiators and it was fine.

Cheers

R/H intake panel

Was sure I had this, but damned if I can find it now. Only left hand ones in eBay that I can find.

Re: Little bit more progress....

Just about there. Waiting on a sidelight and mirrors arriving. Also need to find a couple of screws for intake panels, but that's easy enough. Picture of it the day I got it and then today with just the front section of cowling, screen and mirrors to do. Cheers Daz https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2...

Re: Indicator switch gear

Thanks Mac. Bit of WD40 is all I've tried so far.

Will get some contact cleaner from work. Have seen switchgear on eBay for £20 or so that are sold as working so that's always a possibility.

Will have a look at it tomorrow.

Cheers

Indicator switch gear

Now that I've got the indicators on, the switchgear seems a bit temperamental. Indicator switch doesn't feel quite right and doesn't work 100% of the time. Full beam button is also a bit sticky. Are they easy enough to strip and fix or best just to replace. Electrics not my strong point so just thou...

Mirrors

After a pair of mirrors (with nuts if possible) for 1999 model. Don't need them for trackdays, but going to use it on the road occasionally too. I know they're not required for MOT, but would be nice to have them!

Front side light

Finally getting round to putting the bodywork on the bike. Discovered I'm missing the front side light. 1999 model if that makes any difference. Item 3 in the attachment. Seen a couple on eBay just wondering if anyone here had one. Cheers Daz https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200118/b70e39366399dc9...

Re: Little bit more progress....

So it's back together and rideable now, albeit not road legal. Rode it down to the dead end on my street and back just to see how it was. All seems good. Now just some indicators and put bodywork on. Then just a case of insurance, MOT and tax! The cosmetic tidy up can wait! https://uploads.tapatalk-...

Re: 1999 Firestorm

Haven't added pictures as I need to finish putting it back together. Just trying to guage interest. Think the mileage is about 28k from memory.

1999 Firestorm

Have been doing this bike up for a few months now. Spent about £1900 on it so far. Just seeing if there is any interest as I have an offer of another bike which I'd prefer for trackdays. Off the top of my head : Rogered forks New Nitron shock New discs and pads (front and rear) Front and rear braide...

Re: Rear shock cushion needed

Thanks Wicky.

Guy added some pictures, removed old bearings and emailed me more pictures. So all done for £25.

I'd skipped past it as there were no pictures when I first looked so good job I looked after you posted.

Cheers

Re: Rear shock cushion needed

Didn't see that one when trawling eBay. Love how it says condition as per pictures, then doesn't include any!! Have sent them a message asking for some.

Cheers
