Firestorm touring conversion - long range tank

As my riding companions were all on BMW GS1200's, FJR1300, ZZR1200, I was getting a bit worried that my fuel range would leave me stranded at the roadside.

the solution:

Re: It's Goody!

Goody mate, It looks like we have at least 3 hobbies in common and nearly 3 bikes in common! Looks like the trials bike is a beta rev3, that was my first one [till the mains went] and my green lane GG is a 200, and you have the 300. and I am guessing there is a Firestorm in the collection or you wou...

Re: France, many speed traps once away from the ports?

Just came back from France last night after a long week end of "making progress" on the back roads of Normandy & Brittany. As Timbo ponted out, if there is a static camera, it is preceded with the sign in his photo and the camera was always about 500yds after the sign but could be on e...

Re: 2009 summer meetup.

I would be interested in the trip North. I need an excuse to get back up that way on my bike, and would be good to put a few faces to the names on here. Would need to fit the dates round Music Festivals [going to see the Damned and Joe Jackson at Cornbury in July], Bike trip to Brittany with a load ...

Re: Helmet artwork

Ah well thats too much reminiscing, I should be working!! I see in one of the other threads that there is a suggestion of a summer run going no...

Re: Helmet artwork

They are cool !!!!!!!!! [the helmets, not the sheep]. The mirror eyed spiderman ones would be good if I were a showoff, but I am sure the local cops would take exception to the visor [makes haveing a black visor look reasonable] and it would look crap without it. Show off? Hold on......I just upgrad...

Re: DDDDDYNOJET!

It is such a long time since I fitted mine that I cant fully remember all the details, but I can tell you that the drilling mod to the slide is simple and can be done with a hand drill. Setting up was also no problem and was done without any fancy equipment. I think I only readjusted the air screw f...

Re: The best storm ever is up for sale for the 3rd time !!!

I did laugh when I saw that one pop up again with the Showa suspension shown as an added extra, and the exhaust bandage, but did any of you see this one for at least the 2nd time listed on e-bay? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Honda-VTR-1000-Firestorm_W0QQitemZ220425447170QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Motorcycles?ha...

Re: 62 miles from full till the light came on!

Even 80miles sounds low [unless as said already the low gears is realy screwing you up]. I have one of the early ones with the small tank, and I will get 100 miles on an average tankfull and a low of 70 at a track day with the middle group, so I think the set up is wrong. [and I dont hang around eit...
